Minyon Moore heads Dewey Square’s successful state and local affairs practice and is considered one of Washington’s top strategic thinkers. She formerly served as the Democratic National Committee’s Chief Operating Officer, a position she was appointed to by Chairman Terence R. McAuliffe after serving as his Transition Director in February 2001. Minyon has served as Assistant to President Clinton and Director of White House Political Affairs, with primary responsibility for planning and directing the political activities of the President. Before joining the Clinton Administration, Moore was National Political Director for the DNC during the 1996 election cycle. In conjunction with the Democratic Congressional and Senatorial Campaign Committees and the Democratic Governor’s Association, she developed the framework and infrastructure for the DNC’s 1996 Coordinated Campaign base vote activities in all fifty states. Minyon worked on the 1984 and 1988 presidential campaigns and served as the National Deputy Field Director for Reverend Jackson and Convention Coordinator for the 1988 Jackson campaign. During the 1988 general election, she served as Governor Michael Dukakis’ National Deputy Field Director. A native of Chicago, Minyon attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she majored in sociology.
