2008 DINNER TOPICS/SPEAKERS

Amy is the founder and CEO of The ComfortCake Company, LLC. She started her company from scratch in 2001 with United Airlines as its first customer. A nationally trademarked brand, ComfortCake® is served in the Chicago Public Schools, and in over 1000 retail stores including Jewel, Dominick's and Walgreen's. Jewel also carries Sugarless Sweetness® ComfortCake for diabetics, made with the company's proprietary sugar substitute. ComfortCake has been featured on CNN, The Food Network, AOL and Home Shopping Network. After just two years in business, The ComfortCake Company was selected as the Emerging Minority Enterprise of the Year by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Amy is a former senior marketing executive whose experience includes Bloomingdale's, L'Oreal/ Soft Sheen, Pillsbury, Gillette and Burrell Communications Group. Amy currently sits on PepsiCo's African-American Advisory Board, and the Diversity Council of the Premier Auto Group. Amy's first entrepreneurial venture was The Hilliard Group, a multi-cultural marketing consulting, product development and professional speaking firm started in 1994 which she still owns today.

A graduate of Howard University and the Harvard Business School, Amy is the proud mother of Angelica Jones, Office Manager of The Comfortcake Company, and Nick Jones, Official Taste Tester and soon to be freshman at Howard University.
