Since joining ORIX Real Estate Capital in 2006, Margaret has helped establish, in conjunction with the chief executive offi cer, the company’s strategic planning, direction and allocation of resources across all business lines, including asset management, acquisitions, debt and structured fi nance and development. She also chaired the company’s Investment Committee, which approves all capital transactions including acquisitions, debt and development. In addition, she manages the head of Transaction Analysis and Underwriting Group and reviews all underwriting and Board applications. She was recognized for her efforts in Crain’s Chicago Business 2006 list of “14 Under 40.”

 

Prior to ORIX, Margaret spent three years as executive vice president of Builders Bank, a commercial bank specializing in real estate lending. Her real estate background includes experience working with bankrupt and distressed corporations on acquisition, redevelopment and disposition of their property portfolios.

 

Margaret earned her bachelor’s of business administration, with majors in real estate and marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She also studied real estate markets in Japan, Korea and Hong Kong as part of a Pacifi c Rim Inter-session in Southeast Asia, and she met with public offi cials and private-sector executives during her international business study abroad experience at the University of London/London School of Economics.
